Halfrican American: The Struggle Is Real invites you on an extraordinary journey of
resilience and triumph. Join me, Wilhelm Macmay Mwengi, as I share my life—a story
of grit, deep reflection, and the pursuit of identity.
This memoir takes you through pivotal moments in my life, including a 50-mile daily
bicycle commute that pushed me to my physical limits and resulted in a life-changing
accident. But the true battles were within. I confronted inner struggles, overcame
depression, and found the strength to navigate life’s complexities while living between
two worlds—my Kenyan roots and my life in Texas.
Caught between cultures, my story explores:
Resilience in the face of adversity
Overcoming depression and finding inner strength
Embracing cultural diversity and identity
The struggles and triumphs of rebuilding after divorce
Through all this, I uncovered the strength to celebrate diversity, overcome challenges,
and embark on a powerful journey of self-discovery.
